So, a soul has mmmmass? What would be the "escape velocity" of a 21 gram soul if it were trying to leave Earth's gravity and go to Heaven? Might it be diverted or even captured (heavenly horrors!) by a larger-mass planet after it left Earth? While in a gravitational field, can an individual soul throw around his/er weight vis a vie the other souls? Does an obese person have an obese soul? Today's fashion model would be hurting if the weight of the soul is proportional to body weight! Might lightweight souls hitch-hike on NASA launches? After death, what is the suo loco of the soul? spooknz spooknz Member Registered: 06/10/01 Posts: 82 Loc: New Zealand	Strange huh. that in this day and age, with such a PROVABLE thing as a SOUL WEIGHT (or not) that published scientifically correct evidence doesn't exist. I would think to do this properly takes a special sealed room, environment properly sound in every respect. I can't accept what is postulated without this kind of proper control in place. The exercise discussed above doesn't quite cut it. Anyone offering? I could make a nice cosy bed up for ya in a steriled, atmospherically controlled room pressure sealed with weights, infrared detectors and everything in place. And slowly remove the air to make everything measurable (meanacing smile crosses the face) No takers? Sad. Now... that does not prove nor disprove anything given the foundation it was based on. Is the bodily ascention of Jesus in difficulty??? I learned about a half dozen new pieces of info, noted about a half dozen statements by the filmmakers that were wrong IMHO, and noticed about a half dozen issues which definitely deserve more research and/or critical discussion. What is your "take" on the program and the review? While long part of Christian traditions, writings, and creeds, is the "truth" of the ascention a necessary component of Christianity? I know one "thinking Christian" who has long questioned the ascention, fears it to be an early theological exaggeration, and considers it to be unnecessary to his personal, sincere and devout faith. Your thoughts? On 3/6, ABC's "Outsider" program travelled with a Puerto Rican claiming to be "The Second Coming"/Jesus, with the same Holy Spirit as the first, different body. He grew up in a terrible slum area, did hard drugs, was serving 9 months in prison when he was privately visited by two "angels" (speaking different languages) in a "vision". He now claims millions of followers in 7 countries, saying that because of the First Coming, God eliminated sin and that Satan no longer exists; commiting murder is a crime punishable on Earth, but is not a sin and the murderer will be welcomed by God. He personally smokes and drinks hard liquors, but no longer does drugs. After a divorce ("God approves divorce"), he filed for a divorce from his second wife, but there's been a reconciliation. A previously rejecting daughter has also reconciled and holds a key position in his organization. He's often in the company of beautiful, female believers and is constantly socializing and partying, including proselytizing in bars. His believers say that he is God, that God wants everyone to enjoy life, and that - since God parties - so should they. The impression was that most of his converts are ex-Catholics. How do they have/Where did they acquire the DNA of Jesus in a testable condition to prove the supposition that this is his tomb? It may well contain a family group but is it necessarily the family of THE Jesus? As I understand it, the name was about as common as John Smith or Ali Akbar is today. How can anyone say in these circumstances that they have 'Proof' of anything at all other than that of a family grave of a particular name? If there are inscriptions, who says they are true? Anyone remember the alleged tomb of James? I could be wrong and accept that but I'm also getting sooo tired of these 'factual' shows that don't produce facts, just suppositions and sensationalist claims.
