In researching the force known as Gravity, I have been unable to, as yet, to find a single model that proves gravity is an effect of an object's mass pulling on other objects' mass. The only models that I have found that actually can reproduce and demonstate gravity, shows that it is a magnetic push(Walter Wright, Gravity is a Push). Which brings me to my boogle, I need some views on aether/zpe as I really have no idea where to start on this matter.

In Kepler’s world, and as ultimately expressed by Newton, gravity was an “action at a distance” – a pull, if you will - expressed as:

F_g = (G * M_1 * M_2)/d^2

The “force” of gravity was a pull expressed as the Universal Gravitational Constant (“G”) times the mass of the two objects ("M_1" and "M_2") divided by the square of the distance ("d") between the gravitational center of each mass.

In General Relativity this is no longer the case. GTR does not rely on “action at a distance” to explain gravity. GTR states that all objects, like planets or photons, trace out straight lines as they travel. Mass, however, has the effect of bending (warping) space-time. The planets do travel in a straight line as they obit the Sun…but space-time around the Sun is bend into a circle. The objects aren’t “pulling” each other at all.

Newton's formula works wonderfully for most calculations. It doesn't really express what's actually going on but it does give valid results under most circumstances. However, it requires GTR to explain why light passing the limb of Mercury is bent 1.75 arcseconds as it travels bye.

I should have gave abit more detail about the reason that I am looking for a Physical Model. It is for a home schooling group that only uses reproducable experiments that the students can do Hands-On. This is the reason that I first started looking for a physical model that demonstrates gravity. These students will not just accept theory and equations, they want a physical model to experiment with. I still haven't been able to find one, the aether/zpe is something I want to learn more about, not the students, at least not yet. Hope this clarifies my needs. Thanks in advance for any information on either the physical gravity model or zpe theories.

Delitaru,

I'll look around for some physics experiments that you might use to demonstrate it.

Of course, if the entire planet Mercury only manages to bend light 1.75 arcseconds it might be a bit difficult to demonstrate IRL.

I know that Einstein has a flash of brilliance when he thought about the principle of equivalence and gravity.

His thought experiment involved a man in a windowless elevator. If the elevator was allowed to freely fall, accellerated only by the gravitational field, the man would also be in a free float state. Even though the gravitational field remained the same, he experienced the effect of zero gravity.

If he was placed in the same elevator far out in deep inter-galactic space and allowed to free float there is no known experiment by which he could take the result and determine that he was in space or free falling in the elevator shaft. (We'll assume that the elevator shaft had a vacuum atmosphere so that there was no noise or frictional resistence.)

Had any interesting idea form while looking for a model that physically can demonstrate gravity. The speed of light, which is presently considered the fastest speed at which anything can travel. This may not be entirely true, darkspeed(if it can ever be measured) may travel much faster than light, as darkness is always there first, waiting for the light to catch up to it.

Einstein had his head in the clouds when he assumed light traveled.
The speed of light is not a velocity at all.
Light does not travel.
Light manifests wherever conditions are correct.
The speed of light should properly be called the "transference constant" which is the characteristic velocity of space to transfer information.

Einstein has been replaced. Diane

Love,
Diane

Diane,

Oops...it only took me 6 months to reply.

Hmmm...you're not as far off base as you might think with the theory, but it's not so much out of line with General Relativity either.

"Light" in GTR is a field. "Light" in QM are photons. Maybe Niels Bohr has his head in the clouds, not Albert?

No, not with that nick anyway. They may be around with a new nick.
